Business Development Director – Channels & International

Sector focus: Contact Centre, Public Safety and Trading Room sectors
Technology focus: Call Recording, WFO, Analytics, IVR, CTI, Speech Recognition
Location: UK home office based with a UK and International focus
Remuneration: Base £80,000 – £100,000, Bonus / Commission, Equity opportunity potential

Our client is an independent software vendor focusing on the Contact Centre, Public Safety and Trading Room sectors and delivering their own solutions / applications for: Call Recording, WFO, Analytics, IVR, CTI, Speech Recognition and several other related apps. They are mainly a Channels & Partners led Go-To-Market business and have a surprisingly impressive 600 client installations in the UK and Internationally. 

The next big challenge and opportunity is to build on this international success and much more systematically expand their international presence by identifying potential markets, identifying and engaging with prospective channel partners, signing agreements, creating and bringing to life on-boarding programmes and ultimately work alongside the channel partners for net new revenue streams in new country markets.

The CEO is looking to hire a senior person to work closely with him and as part of the senior management team, who can bring a combination of skills to encompass marketing, international market entry and international channel development and international business development.

Budget is flexible at present but will include a base salary up to six figures plus bonus / commission etc.

Additional detail:

There are Sales leadership and Channel development elements to the role:

  • Leading the International channel business development.
  • Engaging directly with channel partners, initiating relationships, positioning prospective partner our offering and signing channel / distribution agreements.
  • Then leading the on-boarding programmes, channel sales and busdev campaigns to support and drive revenues.
  • Working alongside the new channels to help them qualify and make the first few sales etc.
  • On-going commercial and relationship management with the new channel community
  • Recruiting and managing channel managers to take on the tactical day to day work of the above and leading these people ongoing
  • This could be titled: Business Development Director or even Sales & Marketing Director. Undecided at this stage

There is a marketing element to the role:

  • Research of international markets and prospective Channel Partners for market entry strategy.
  • Positioning and messaging of our offering and how these relate to prospective channel partners
  • International Marketing and brand positioning in target markets selected
  • Channels campaigns and positioning, channels demand generation, etc.
  • A key theme is positioning and shaping their offering and messaging around the transition from CPE / Capex style sales to SaaS.
