Solution focus: Cisco, Fortinet and Symantec security solutions and similar
Remuneration:  Base c. £45,000, + OTE £45k
Location: 90 minutes of south Berkshire

Based south of Reading our client is a managed services and technology solutions provider. The business focusses on the mid-market sector within the UK and has very strong relationships with leading manufacturers including Cisco, Microsoft and Fortinet. Key technology solutions include Network Infrastructure, Unified Communications and Security. Verticals include Finance, Manufacturing, Housing and Local Government and its client list includes several well-known brand companies. 

The company is currently extending its solutions portfolio in the Collaboration and Security sector to embrace the latest hosted solutions. Building on its current success a robust business plan has been put in place to grow the business significantly over the next few years creating excellent career progression and development for ambitious individuals.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Although primarily a new business role the Business Development Manager – Security will work with management to further develop the company’s Security portfolio for both on-premise, managed and cloud solutions. In addition to developing new customers there will be an opportunity to sell security solutions to existing clients in conjunction with the nominated account managers

Requirements

Minimum of three years IT sales experience
New business development experience
Proven track record of target attainment
Good understanding of on-premise, hosted and hybrid security solutions
Strong knowledge of Cisco, Fortinet and Symantec
Demonstrable written and oral skills
Any experience of the wider Cisco networking or competitor portfolios is also useful

New Business Development

Prepare call campaigns in conjunction with internal marketing and two external telesales / lead generation agencies
Generate appointments from targeted campaigns
Maintain regular contact with nominated suspects and prospects to identify opportunities
Manage opportunities from identification to closure
Present the company to new prospects and suspects
Present proposed solution to prospects
Maintain Workbooks CRM records with customer and bid information

Supplier Relationships

Ensure all bid opportunities are registered with suppliers in a timely manner
Provide accurate information to suppliers on bid opportunities
Maintain supplier portals with up to date bid information
Maintain a high level understanding of Cisco and the other portfolio technologies
Build relationships with existing partners
Establish relationships with potential new manufacturers and develop a go-to-market strategy

Administration

Preparation of small quotations for products and services
Preparation of sales proposals in conjunction with pre-sales and technical services
Prepare relevant documents including cost analysis and statements of works
Process orders on to the system
Ensure forecast information is up to date at all times

Key Performance Indicators:

Key Performance Indicators will be agreed at the start of each financial year and reviewed quarterly. . KPIs will be based on:
Target attainment – £20 – £25K GM per month
Appointment generation
Bid registration
Quotations and proposals submitted
