Database Administrator – DBA
Salary: £45-60,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Home located role. Offices are in Hertfordshire, but after inital period only 1-2 days per month expected in the office.

They are the largest provider of such hosted services in the UK with the infrastructure and scalability to handle up to 8,000 calls simultaneously, which means that calls will always be answered no matter how unpredictable the circumstances. Their customers include a cinema chain, Transport for London, Comic Relief, O2 and the Ministry of Justice.

As a Database Administrator with an exceptionally fast growing technology company you will have the opportunity to work with some of the most advanced technology in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
Accountable for the day to day administration of the database estate (Physical & Cloud-based), including aspects such as:
- Installation & configuration
- Performance tuning, query optimization & index tuning
- Backup strategies
- Design & document scalable, secure, highly available database architectures.
- Implement monitoring solutions to enable predictive alerting.
- Set up and maintain administration & monitoring tools.
- Review of change management requests to ensure optimal performance of services.
- Research and evaluate new technologies.
You will need to have:
- Experience of Percona / MySQL / MariaDB
- Experience of cloud services such as AWS RDS & Aurora.
- Experience with Tungsten, XtraBackup, Percona Monitoring & Management (PMM)
Linux administration experience
Experience with scripting languages for automation (e.g. Bash / Python).
Familiarity with tools such as Splunk, Nagios, Puppet, Ansible, Jira, Git would be advantageous but not crucial.
