Product Owner
Based: Hounslow West London / Middlesex
Salary: Base c. £38,000 – 45,000 + Benefits
Our client is one of the UK’s leading providers of voice solutions including call recording, WFO / workforce management, quality monitoring, and Speech Analytics. They are 25 years old, and have offices in Middlesex. They work with a number of suppliers, and also develop their own solutions. They have a strong track record in the Financial services / banking space, contact centres, and several central government areas.
The Role
Primary focus will be as Product Owner with the focus, tenacity and passion to proactively support internal stakeholders and the development team in delivering against project goals, scope and timelines.
You will take on the dual responsibility of Product Management tasks as required in support of the Technical Product Manager and other stakeholders.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Product Owner to join a growing development team who work using Agile/Scrum to deliver technical solutions to our customer’s business problems.
Skills
Suitable candidates would be a graduate from Software Engineering, Computing/IT or potentially Business, or have comparable experience with a minimum of 2 years’ experience of full life-cycle project participation and delivery.
The following are essential:
⦁ At least 1 years’ experience as a Product Owner in a SCRUM team
⦁ Experience in working across multiple products
⦁ Experience of a product with RESTful APIs as a primary interface
⦁ Experience of products built on a Service/Capability based architecture
⦁ Experience in delivering and maintaining deployed products
⦁ Excellent verbal communication and writing skills in English.
⦁ Team Working Skills – Experience of team working and understanding how your role within the team benefits the whole.
⦁ Interpersonal Skills – Good awareness of other people/situations and ability to adapt approach accordingly.
⦁ Able to be flexible and adapt to change.
Key responsibilities:
⦁ Proactively work with key product stakeholders to understand product requirements and translate into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria to take into the Development team.
⦁ Ability to interpret a high-level specification to create user stories.
⦁ Ability to take on the user perspective and to reflect this within the stories.
⦁ Ensure product stakeholders are kept informed of progress and challenges, providing sufficient detail to allow decisions to be made quickly and effectively for continued progress.
⦁ Work closely with the Scrum Master, reporting to Technical Product Manager.
⦁ Take ownership of the product backlog, engaging with appropriate stakeholders to ensure clarity of requirements and acceptance criteria.
⦁ Work with Technical Product Manager to ensure Product Backlog remains prioritised in a timely manner.
⦁ Fully embrace the agile development process including daily team scrums, planning and estimating sessions, workshops and stakeholder sprint review/demonstrations.
⦁ Be an active part of the planning sessions; provide Product Vision input without need for external involvement.
⦁ Identify where changes to requirements occur that they are suitably reviewed: implications considered, discussed with all relevant stakeholders, sized appropriately, implemented and tested.
⦁ Responsible for review and closure of ALL tickets during the Sprint as they are finished, confident to challenge where required.
⦁ Quick learner, able to understand highly complex requirements and systems.
⦁ Able to grasp technical concepts and new product functionality quickly.
⦁ Attention to detail and consistent application of standards.
Product Management responsibilities:
⦁ Support Technical Product Manager in completing relevant processes to ensure Products are ready for delivery teams to implement and support through life cycle
⦁ Able to reflect PM’s product vision to Stakeholders when PM unavailable.
⦁ Propose and support opportunities to improve processes, as part of philosophy of constant iterative improvement

⦁ Experience with Single-Page Application UI development and maintenance
⦁ Experience of product built on a Server-less Architecture
⦁ Experience in delivering and maintaining hosted products
⦁ Experience of development and deployment in Cloud Services, including MS Azure
⦁ Experience working with external suppliers, such as for UI design and development
